Gen Li

Short bio (my CV)

Gen Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Science at UCSB and leads the Earth Surface and Carbon Dynamics Laboratory. Trained as a geomorphologist and geochemist, he studies the physical and chemical processes that cycle materials and elements in the Earth system. 

Gen Li obtained a PhD degree in Earth Science from the University of Southern California (2017, Advisor: Josh West) and a BS degree in Geology from Nanjing University, China (2011). Before joining UCSB, Gen worked at Caltech as a Geology Option Postdoctoral Fellow (Sponsors: Mike Lamb, Woody Fischer, and Jean-Philippe Avouac) and at UCLA as a Postdoctoral Scholar (Advisor: Seulgi Moon).
